Self-Esteem Coping Skills

Self-esteem coping skills are strategies that help maintain a positive view of oneself. They include techniques for acting confidently in moments of self-doubt. Since life events can sometimes lower self-esteem, it's important to use these skills to prevent feeling unworthy.
The Self-Esteem Coping Skills bundle includes positive affirmation cards, a self-care wheel, 101 ways to improve self-esteem, coping statements, coping skills, and an alphabet of self-esteem. Each item provides helpful information and examples to boost self-esteem and is printable for easy access.
By using these resources and implementing the tips on each page, kids and teens can feel more confident, believe in themselves, and focus on the positive. They can prioritize surrounding themselves with people that affirm they’re enough. It may feel uncomfortable at first, but as their self-esteem grows, it will get easier.
When adults notice young people being self-critical or doubtful, they can offer support by reminding them of past successes and helping them reframe negative thoughts.

I worked through a lot of these sheets with my son after having some emotional regulation issues playing hockey (can't blame him). I wasn't sure if it was worth it but I was willing to try just about anything and thought this work couldn't hurt. It was amazing! He was not a fan at first but ended up enjoying the conversations this led to. It literally shifted his mindset from reacting to things to responding to things (giving thought to his next actions) and really changed his hockey game. AMAZING!
