Started in 2021 by Vanessa in collaboration with her husband, Michael, our mission is to create high-quality, visually engaging mental health worksheets, handouts, and infographics to assist parents, teachers, therapists, counselors, social workers, and other mental health professionals in supporting kids and teens to be happy, healthy, and self-confident.
Michael Vallejo, LCSW
Michael is a Child & Family Therapist with a private practice in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He received a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Portland State University. He is licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in Colorado and Oregon.
Prior to starting his private practice in 2014, he worked in a residential treatment center for children and teens, at a shelter for at-risk youth, and as a child and family therapist in a community-based mental health agency. He specializes in working with kids & teens with emotional, behavioral, and/or school difficulties.
Throughout his therapy career Michael has been in search of highly engaging handouts and worksheets for his clients. Through Mental Health Center Kids he hopes to support other therapists, parents, teachers, and mental health professionals with visually appealing online resources to support the wellbeing of kids in their care.
All of the items in Mental Health Center Kids have been used with kids and teens in Michael’s therapy practice.

Vanessa Vallejo, BA
Vanessa earned her BA in Psychology from Fort Lewis College. She previously worked as an educational assistant in an elementary school. She was certified as an ABA therapist while working at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders.
She is passionate about helping children be happy, healthy, and self-confident. She has collaborated with Michael to design all the items in Mental Health Center Kids to be used with clients in his therapy practice.
