Flexible Thinking Worksheets (6 Pages)

Flexible thinking is a skill that helps clients adapt when situations change. Research shows that our brains can learn to be flexible, just like other behaviors that improve with practice and reinforcement.
The Flexible Thinking Worksheets comprise six pages that guide clients to reflect on real-life situations and practice thinking in new ways. Clients can identify triggers, compare flexible and rigid thinking, and create an action plan for handling challenges. Additional exercises help them apply these skills daily.
Using our worksheets can help kids and teens learn to make better decisions in challenging situations. It may be helpful to complete the worksheets in a quiet, comfortable space where they can focus and take their time to think through each question.
As young people answer the worksheets, caring adults may check in on their progress. They can talk with them about what they learned and the new ways they approached problems and decisions.
These worksheets pair nicely with either our 4 Flexible Thinking Strategies or Tips To Improve Flexible Thinking handouts for those who want a more thorough explanation of the skill.
