Anxiety Thermometer

Kids and teens who feel anxious will benefit from engaging in a therapeutic activity like this anxiety thermometer. Anytime they experience anxiety, they can identify their specific emotion from the thermometer, ranging from “calm, peaceful, and relaxed” to “frantic, out of control, and panic.” They can also better understand their actions as a result of that emotion and more importantly, explore ways to help them relax.
Some of the coping techniques found on this worksheet include taking deep breaths, thinking of a peaceful place, splashing cold water on their face, and more. Learning how to relax during difficult situations helps them become more resilient and stay mentally healthy.

The anxiety meter is wonderful. We have it on the wall in my kid's calm down corner and she's already referenced it a couple times
