Managing Stress With Acceptance Handout
Managing stress with acceptance means accepting (instead of denying) the presence of stressors without the need to control them. Research suggests that individuals who have higher levels of acceptance skills can effectively regulate negative emotions.
The Managing Stress With Acceptance Handout starts by providing research on acceptance and stress. Underneath the research findings, clients will find a list of ways to embrace acceptance, which includes completing the Circle of Control and doing Zen Breathing.
Using this handout helps kids and teens let go of the things they cannot control, which enhances their self-compassion. To support them in completing the Circle of Control activity, we recommend downloading our Circle of Control Worksheet with different versions for better reflection.
This handout can be found alongside many other stress management activity ideas in our 39-page Stress Management Handouts Bundle.
