Ways To Cope With A Loss
Coping with loss involves adjusting to the emotional, psychological, and sometimes physical effects of losing someone or something important in one's life. This process includes experiencing grief, seeking support from others, finding ways to remember and honor what was lost, and gradually adapting to life.
The Ways To Cope With A Loss handout guides clients through the grieving process by providing 6 strategies. Rather than suppressing their feelings, clients will be able to give themselves permission to cry, talk to relatives, and practice self-care.
As children and teens use the handout, they can process their emotions in a healthy way, which reduces the likelihood of depression and long-term psychological issues. Discussions about grief and emotions may be done in various settings, such as homes, support groups, and school counseling sessions.
This handout is included in our 13-page Grief And Loss Handouts Bundle, which provides psychoeducation and coping skills to help clients cope with loss.
