Coping With The 5 Stages Of Grief

Translation missing: en.products.product.view_full_details

Coping with the five stages of grief involves understanding and dealing with each stage: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. This path is not linear, and everyone experiences it uniquely, especially young people. They may express their grief differently from adults, such as through changes in behavior, regression to earlier developmental stages, or difficulty concentrating.

The How To Cope With The 5 Stages Of Grief handout is divided into five sections, each dedicated to a specific stage. Every section provides strategies and examples for clients to cope and move through each stage. Some of the tips mentioned include talking to a trusted person and engaging in physical activity.

Learning effective ways to cope with each stage allows for emotional healing to take place. Caring adults may provide additional support to kids and teens by modeling healthy coping and seeking help from a counselor or therapist who specializes in childhood grief.

This handout can be found in our Grief And Loss Handouts Bundle, which includes 13 pages of coping strategies and tips to support those experiencing loss.
