All About Generosity

Being generous is a trait admired by many. It involves giving more of something, such as one’s time or resources, without expecting anything in return. Research shows that engaging in acts of giving allows adolescents to build and strengthen their relationships with peers, family, and the community.
The All About Generosity handout is a great resource for clients to build a culture of giving. First, the handout introduces the research behind generosity and then offers tips for showing it to others. It also lists action exercises clients can practice, such as giving away unused clothes and sharing positive news.
Acts of generosity help kids and teens develop positive habits, which can be contagious. After discussing the handout together, help your child set specific, achievable goals for practicing generosity. They can also pick one of the action exercises to implement each week.
Our Generosity Worksheets provide additional activities to support the learning process.
