Loyalty means remaining steadfast and supportive of someone or something. It involves showing trustworthiness — and other important qualities like honesty, transparency, and selflessness — even during difficult times. Research shows that the development of loyalty begins in infancy through relationships of care and affection.
The All About Loyalty handout helps clients understand and develop the quality of loyalty. It explains the 3 benefits of staying loyal, describes specific actions and traits that define a loyal person, and provides tips for demonstrating loyalty.
By staying loyal, kids and teens can build strong friendships, earn trust and respect, and feel pride in being reliable. To make sure their loyalty is not exploited, they need to learn to balance it with critical thinking and self-respect.
Our Loyalty Worksheets nicely complement this handout.
