All About Gratitude

Gratitude involves recognizing and appreciating what one has and the kindness shown by others. It means being thankful for the blessings in life and acknowledging the positive contributions of friends, family, mentors, and others who support and help us. Research shows that gratitude can counteract negative feelings like greed, envy, or anger.
The All About Gratitude handout allows clients to pause, reflect on, and appreciate the goodness in their lives. It explains the benefits of practicing gratitude, provides tips on how to make it a regular habit, and includes engaging exercises to help them naturally express their appreciation.
Practicing gratitude helps kids and teens develop a more hopeful outlook in life. Caring adults can create a gratitude ritual that incorporates at least one of the gratitude exercises from the handout, such as journaling or going on a gratitude walk.
