ADHD Coping Skills for Teens

Teenagers with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can be taught some coping strategies to help manage their symptoms, encourage them to take responsibility for their own behaviors, and improve their self-control.
This handout is a supportive tool that provides teens with plenty of ideas on improving their ability to start a task, focus, sustain their effort, calm down, remember things, and take positive action. Let them bring this handout home and use it as a daily reminder to help with their success daily.
This was a helpful tool I used with my ADHD kid to advocate for helpful coping skills for himself. He used it during a IEP/504 meeting to explain what coping skills he wanted to use in his plan.
