DBT Positive Affirmations Worksheet

$1.50
Translation missing: en.products.product.view_full_details

In Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), positive affirmations refer to statements or phrases a client can say to themselves to challenge negative thoughts. DBT affirmations usually focus on mindfulness, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

The DBT Positive Affirmations Worksheet includes positive statements, such as “I am stronger than I think” and “I will forgive in order to move forward.” Clients will find three empty thought bubbles, which serve as spaces to write down encouraging statements to increase their resilience when going through difficult situations.

When kids and teens focus on these positive affirmations and write new ones, they can be reminded of their inner strength. After completing the worksheet, they can carry it with them as a reminder throughout the day. It can be helpful to have discussions about the affirmations that resonate with them.

For additional affirmations, this worksheet can be paired with our DBT Coping Statements handout.
