Walking The Middle Path DBT Poster
“Walking the middle path” is a skill in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in which a person aims to achieve a balance between acceptance and change. Visual reminders of this skill can be created in various forms, such as daily affirmations and posters, to reinforce its importance.
The Walking The Middle Path DBT Poster features a list of sayings that inspire and motivate clients to apply the concept of walking the middle path in various situations. Examples of these sayings include “I am happy with myself and I want to improve,” and “I had a bad childhood and I can live a good life.”
For kids and teens participating in DBT or practicing DBT skills in their everyday life, the sayings in our poster help with emotional regulation. We recommend hanging the poster in a location where therapy clients or students can easily see it during discussions. This is also great for home environments to inspire family members.
This poster aligns nicely with our Dialectical Thinking worksheet, which allows for practical application of the walking the middle path skill.
